We offer two blued finishes for chrome moly steel barrels. The blued options are polished and blued or glass peened and blued. The polished and blued finish is done by polishing the barrel with 180, 240, 320, and 400 grit sanding belts, finishing with a Scotch BriteTM polishing pad, and then bluing. The basic principles just outlined apply to all the calibers below. If you are still unsure or need a recommendation we recommend contacting a bullet maker, they do the testing to determine what twist rate will best stabalize their bullets. Caliber Twist: .172. - 9" for bullets heavier than 30 gr. - 10" for bullets up to 30 gr.Just installed my recently ordered 6BR 1x8 twist 30" Shilen select-match large shank barrel on my dual port Savage BR action.
