ToME is probably my favorite overall game, roguelike or not. I have just over 1000 hours through the Steam version and at least a couple hundred more outside of Steam. I have been playing the game on and off for years and somehow I keep coming back. My only real complaint is that a single run just takes so much time.

Yea, My favorites are the ones that make exploring a natural and quick process. Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Tome 4, COQ, cogmind. DCSS was my first roguelike, and I absolutely loved the auto explore feature. To me roguelike means a game that I can press one key to explore and focus more on the decisions that determine if I live or die.
