With a full 10-rnd mag in the pistols, the G30S weighs ~11% less overall (30.36 oz vs. 33.71 oz). Many will like that the most about the G30S.Bill, a few weeks ago I hit a gun show looking for a 30 Gen 3 and ended up with a used 30SF Gen 3. A friend from work has a 30S. We went to the range and we each shot two magazines from both the 30SF and 30S and I felt the recoil with Winchester White Box range ammo was a little more noticeable in the 30S I was a bit surprised 3 oz. was really much if any difference.Both the 33 and 30SF are noticeably more than the 26, but not objectionable. I am assuming the 33 is similar to the 27; I have fire a Sig 229 with both barrels and can’t tell much difference. The 33 is quick where the 30 is more of a push. The 10 round mag makes a difference for me over the 9 round in control of the 30.I had a 30sf, that is a great gun, just to much for me to carry. I now have a 36, that’s the biggest I can carry, though I wish the 30s was as easy but weight is an issue for me. The 30s on paper looks like the ultimate 45acp, but weight matters. As far as recoil, I don’t notice a difference between the 30sf and 36 because the kind of recoil.

Also, as far as a 30S/30SF comparison; seeing as the 30SF has a heavier slide, I would imagine it would have slightly less perceived recoil and SLIGHTLY less muzzle rise, allowing for slightly faster follow-up shot front sight acquisition. I can not speak for the XDS at all.

On my Gen4, I've had two mag catches and springs replaced due to excessive wear of the catch and the notches in the mags. Mags would fall out upon firing the gun.The 30S has an SF frame.
